The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. It was in 1988, when the company was formally incorporated as a private limited company and became Siepmann’s Card Systems Pvt. Ltd. The old name; which implied the company’s philosophy based upon a European influence on for business was retained and the values are still maintained.
By mid 1980s, the company commanded a major presence in the Indian subcontinent, entrenched all over the country with major branches.
In the late 2000, the company having exposure to Smart Cards; took up upon them to produce products indigenously. The future of plastic cards in India as being in the chip card technology hence following the trend of the global economics and markets.
With that foresight, Siepmann’s Card Systems Pvt. Ltd. started manufacturing the first indigenously developed contact less smart card in India in-house during the early part of 2002. And it was our philosophy of making technology accessible to India at affordable costs and in minimum time, became very popular, which has added to the growth of Smart Cards in India.
Apart from smart card/ inlay, physical identification products, we also started offering personalization and other plastic card related services to various banks across India.
Today, a Card manufacturing unit has been set up at Vasai, a suburb in Mumbai, India in accordance to the high standards required for the production of plastic cards: completely dust proof, fully Air-conditioned and with facilities to carry out all operation under a single roof.
The unit can also provides service Bureau for plastic card related services such as Card Personalization, Embossing, Encoding etc., which is availed by various Banks and other Card related organization.
Siepmann’s Card Systems Pvt. Ltd. today has an independent manufacturing setup that spans over 16,000 sq ft with an impressive line-up of the Muhlbauer IA 16000 ETC and the ISC 500 Smartcard manufacturing Line. This is again the first complete smartcard production line in India . The production capacity for contactless smart cards alone is at approximately 20,000 per day.
